Plan your crafting before you gather

Start with the edition you are playing. Check the recipe’s ingredients, crafting requirement and output before counting materials. Some recipes make several items in one batch; requesting one more item can require another complete batch.

Open the recipe planner and enter the quantity you need. Turn on ingredient crafting to include intermediate recipes. Shared leftovers are reused, and alternative recipes remain your choice. If a recipe depends on a survivor or skill, follow that requirement before gathering everything. The displayed costs are the ordinary recipe costs, before character or equipment discounts.
