Privacy Policy

What Don’t Starve Together Wiki keeps about you, why, for how long, and how to change it.

Accounts

The site creates no account unless you sign in. If you sign in with Google, Discord, Twitch or Steam, it keeps the account id that service gives it and the display name from Google, Discord or Twitch; a Steam sign-in gets a generated name. It never keeps your email address. A sign-in session lasts up to 100 days and ends earlier when you sign out.

What you post and save

When you are signed in, the site keeps what you choose to post or save under your account: your profile name and description, builds, favourites, comments, corrections, ratings and screenshots. Published posts show your profile name to other players. Planner drafts you have not saved stay in your browser’s storage.

Traffic measurement

Google Analytics measures general traffic and can set its own cookies. PostHog counts page views without storing anything in your browser and without building a profile of you.

Assistant apps

When you use this site’s app in ChatGPT or another assistant, the assistant sends this site the tool it calls and that tool’s inputs: a search phrase, an entry kind, a page address, a language, an edition, cooking ingredients and a result page. The site uses them only to answer that request and does not store them. The request carries no account, so the site cannot tie it to you.

Server logs and retention

Every request, an assistant app’s included, is recorded in the web server’s access log: the sending address, the time, the requested path, the response status and size, the referring page and the client name. Access logs are deleted after 15 days.

Account details and what you posted or saved stay until you remove them or ask for your account to be deleted.

Your choices

To learn what the site holds about your account, or to have it deleted, write to [email protected] and name the account you signed in with.
